LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Okay, so you all know Down syndrome is very near and dear to my heart but I had a friend, Cassandra, ask me to help her charity out. I have never met her in person, I don't "know" her from Adam (so the saying goes). But I can say this, she is a fantastic mother to three BEAUTIFUL children, Jenna, and, the twins, Kyle and Lauren. I also have another friend, Monica who has two sons, Sawyer and Adam. These two woman have as much in common as Cass and I do. Cass and I both have twins. Monica and Cass both have children born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

Monica's, gorgeous sprout of a man, Sawyer, was born with SMA Type 1 on June 29, 2007 and passed away on October 6, 2007.

And the twins, Kyle and Lauren, were born June 26, 2007 with SMA Type 2 but not diagnosed until much later in life (somewhere around their first birthday if my memory serves correctly).

SMA is the #1 genetic killer of children under the age of 2, an awful statistic and we can do something to help stop SMA. In the coming days, you will see a couple of posts linked up here to help a charity win A LOT of money. Money that will be put toward research to find how to stop SMA.
