The Field Trip

I do not know who penned this or put it to the picture...it is simply beautiful.
Heart breaking and beautiful.

But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14

Tears

I am sitting here, supposed to be writing a paper, with tears streaming down my face. Eyes that cannot see through the blur. I am broken, beat down and broken--heart smashed for the orphans in this world.

I've read it estimated there are 147+ million orphans in the world today--this figure is not concrete, for all the children we KNOW are orphans, there are more that are never recorded as orphaned.

For every child that finds their forever family there are, quite literally, over a million more just waiting. Waiting.

Waiting.

Waiting....nothing to do in life but wait.

Can you imagine a life shut off, closed down, stifled and stagnant?

Can you imagine never having love? Consistent, true, bleeding heart love?

Can you imagine going to bed without a full belly, ever?

Can you imagine being ignored out of necessity because there aren't enough caregivers nor hours in the day?

Can you imagine that's all there is?

No?

I'd like to say, "Me neither". Sadly, painfully blessedly, I cannot say, "Me neither".

I've seen that child with a life shut off, closed down, stifled and stagnant. He's now my son.
I've seen that child that knew no love. He's now my son.
I've seen that child hungry and waiting for food to fill his tiny belly with ribs jutting out under his skin. He's now my son.
I've seen that child who was ignored and left to rock, chew and relegated to stimming behaviors. He's now my son.
I've seen the children who have no idea there is life outside of the orphanage walls the survive within day after day---one of them is my son.

I am haunted by the tiny ones that walked by us a couple of times while we were in Ukraine saying "Privyet" (that means hello) and waving so politely, stunted in growth, smiling and calling us mama and papa. I am haunted by the pictures of the orphans, like my son, born with disabilities and left crib ridden because it's easier that way.

I want to change it. I want to change it all. I want to scream from whatever platform I have that these children ARE WORTHY of life. They are WORTHY of love. They are worthy.

Please, if you are able, donate to an orphan or an orphan's family working tirelessly to reach their child. If you pray, please pray for the orphans all over the world. Just do what you can. Please.

Update on Maggie's donation

Thank you to the two people that followed this blog and placed an order for Maggie through her link. I know I had said I would do a fundraiser for Maggie this month with a give-away of products. I am sorry to say but I am not doing a give-away now--the lack of response has me worried. I fear that money I would spend on the items would be better spent directly donated to Maggie instead. However, I am STILL fundraising for Maggie through Scentsy sales and party links this month and asking people to donate directly to Maggie's fund if they so desire.

Here's the rundown. In October, I had a person order for Maggie ahead of our November sales/fundraiser time and that sale amounted to a donation of $51.00 PRV and that equates to a commission of $12.75. For the month of November, my PRV totalled $1007.45 and that equates to a commission of $251.86. All said, after my commission is posted on December 10th, I will be making a donation to Maggie totaling $264.61 and I will post a picture of my commission paid for November and a picture of my donation to Maggie's fund confirmation.

Thank you to each of you for purchasing through this blog. To all that contacted me and held parties in the month of November, thank you too.
