Well, the morning started nicely. We got Jadon checked in, he left my arms at 10:54 a.m. And Dr. Hamaker did her job first. Jadon's ears were full of very, nasty, thick fluid. So thick, in fact, that it was able to lower his hearing ability by 40 decibels. Dr. Ronda could not get the smallest medical grade plastic tubes in his ear canals, almost, but not quite; so, Jadon is sporting very tiny, titanium grommets in each ear :)
Next came Dr. Cain's job. This was meant to be a 45 minute surgery. Well, it turned into an hour and seven minute surgery and around 12:45 this afternoon I held my boy again in my arms as he nestled into my bosom and sucked his thumb.
Jadon's hypospadias had to be repaired, during which Dr. Cain discovered his urethra was abnormally thin and PTL he did NOT slice it when removing the skin from the shaft of Jadon's man-bits in order to fix the chordee. Thank God above Jadon was never circumcised in Ukraine, we needed EVERY single bit of that skin to reconstruct his man-bits. Jadon was supposed to have had a caudal block (sort of like an epidural during labor but semi-permanent and no line remains out of your back during the procedure). However, apparently, Jadon (just like his momma) has some vertebral issues that did not allow the procedure to be completed successfully. Soooo, somewhere around 3:00 p.m. the block wore off and Jadon had his first urination following surgery--suffice it to say, it HURT! Baby boy screamed for 30 minutes in the van until I could get his Lortab elixir in him. The Lortab does NOT knock him out, but it sure makes him funny!
We came home and ate dinner shortly thereafter. I am happy to report, Jadon has soaked 5 diapers (and this was a big concern), had a bowel movement and is walking and playing as if nothing was ever done. I am amazed in him! Thank God for the seemingly speedy recovery this far and for Jadon's ability to urinate and pass movements with no issue. Thank you all for the prayers, so far we are doing great and I pray that trend continues. Jadon is sleeping in mommy and daddy's room tonight so if he has trouble I can get right to him.

"I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name." Isaiah 45:2-3 (NIV)
