Can I just say THANK YOU to our team. Thank you to Serge, who made our SDA appointment happen the day it was planned and not the next day or the next day or the next day. We needed another piece of paperwork and within hours of our scheduled appointment that paper was recovered, signed and accounted for. We were approved for our "referral" on Wednesday, Sept 28th to meet Jadon and were told we would leave on Friday. We got a call Thursday morning that our referral paper was ready and we were LEAVING to Kirovograd in 30 minutes, and, Serge was taking us and for those that have not had this pleasure...it means you are going...quickly ;)
We arrived and promptly met Natasha, our lawyer, and signed some papers and off to the orphanage. We met Jadon just after 5 p.m. on Sept. 29th. We visited all weekend long and on Wednesday (we think) I got a call from Serge telling me court would be Thursday Oct. 6th, 2011. We were outside with Jadon visiting and had somehow missed our own lawyer going into the orphanage to meet with the Director to discuss this. We met her on her way out and she said, "Court tomorrow at 2 o'clock". Shawn and I were AMAZED.
So there you have it, SDA on the 28th and court just 8 days later. If the red passports were still available we would have been home Tuesday or Wednesday instead of tomorrow. BUT you know what? 20 days in country is awesome and to have the FASTEST ADOPTION in the HISTORY of this team's workings.......well, GOD ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you, God. Thank you,Reece's Rainbow. Thank you Serge, Luda, Nico, Yulia, Natasha (lawyer), Kate (translator), Nick (our in region driver) and our landlords Sergei and Lyudmila. A very special THANK YOU to each of you praying for us. We are leaving here in 4 hours to head to the airport. See you back stateside! By the way....that verse below my siggie? Well, it has been my prayer verse for this adoption...first for Kirill (the Davis' son) and then as our own. Hey, you know what? Good ol' fashioned prayer works y'all!
Love,

"I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name." Isaiah 45:2-3 (NIV)
