We attended the training they require this past Saturday. The training was nice enough, but not informative at all for us. There just wasn't information pertaining to a child born with Down syndrome.
They covered the usual topics: Grief, Attachment Disorder, medical stuff, transracial and transcultural information, and two adoption stories.
Listening to the adoption stories was the best part of the day. Lunch was good. BUT the fellowship was WONDERFUL. We shared the day with other Christian families, heard their testimonies and just felt---welcomed.
EVERY single person in the room was there for the same reason we are--because GOD called us out to take this journey with Him. Trusting in faith and leaning on His promises.
The opening slideshow we watched was centered on biblical verses pertaining to adoption. It was awesome.
We met another family who also found their child on Reece's Rainbow. They are the Chirch family for Kaylee. She is a beautiful child and I know she will be well cared for and loved with this family.
