Help for families just learning they are expecting a child with Down syndrome

Not a lot of writing again today (I have a final paper I need to finalize) but I wanted to share two great resources for families just learning they have a child with Down syndrome or they are going to have a child with Down syndrome.

The first is Down Syndrome Awareness this website actually has a "Celebration Pamphlet" that I created for families as part of my community project I completed when I graduated from Partners in Policymaking and you can download the pamphlet to use in your community if you wish. I highly suggest if you have a Partners in Policymaking course in your area that you apply to the program and attend if you can. I loved the time I spent there and the knowledge gained is invaluable.

The second website is a brand-spanking new website put together by some women from my Babycenter Down syndrome board to help families receiving a prenatal diagnosis navigate their way through what may seem like some very murky waters. Check out Down Syndrome Pregnancy and see what she has to offer. There is some beautiful photography on there provided by Conny Wenk and Kelle Hampton.

Enjoy!!
